Add New Hardware Wizard stops responding...

every time I run the Add New Hardware Wizard in XP, my
machine hangs and stops responding... this is very
frustrating as I've just installed XP on my laptop (which
i had to wipe the HDD on because the installer wouldn't
let me upgrade from 2000) and I need to reinstall all of
my old devices... if anybody can tell me ANYTHING I would
greatly appreciate it! thanks in advance, Tom

What kinds of devices are you talking about? They may not be xp compatible.
