CD RW wont write using window wizard

I am running xp pro, When i attempt to write (jpeg
images) to my cd rw using the windows wizard i get the
message "please insert disc into drve" when there is one
already in. I get the same error message when i use INCD
wizard.
I can confirm that the cdrw plays audio and data cds ok
and will write ok when using nero. I have tried changing
brand of disc but to no avail.

Any info would be appreciated.

Open My Computer, right click on the drive, select Properties, select
Recording Tab, and check the box "Enable cD Recording on the drive"

What type of disc are you trying to write to...CD-R or CD-RW?
Has the disc been used before?
Can you write other types of files besides .jpg images?
