I ended up deleting everything with the BootIT.NG floppy.
Because I don't have a bootable CD, I tried reinstalling
98 and then XP using the FAT32 file system because I
thought the NTFS was my problem. I still had the same
problems...couldn't reset the primary partition or delete
the 98 from FDISK. So, I deleted everything again with
BootIt.NG...found the download for using a set of 6
floppy disks to boot the XP. The installation appears to
be complete...I think I am home free! Thanks for your
help!
