CD-Writer problems

Whenever I burn audio CD's, one song always manages to
not burn, in other words I cannot hear it. Furthermore,
the recording speed is very slow. When I bought my HP
Pavilion 541c, it use to burn at around 2-3 minutes. Now
it is taking 10 minutes. Recently, I've been trying to
burn and it will not let me. It says that the recording
speed is to fast, when it is only at 4x. What is going
on? PLEASE HELP!
