Blank Media Player

Whenever i try to use Microsoft Media Player, Quicktime,
or Realplayer i get a totally blank screen where the
picture should be, the sound is still there though. I
tried uninstalling Media Player and then reinstalling it
but that didn't help at all. I appreciate any advice.
Please!! I'm clueless.

i have the same case, everytime i open up a movie file (.avi; .vob; .mpg), my whole screen will go blank (like blinking, as if it prepares or switch to a new video mode) and then plays the file. i upgraded to DirectX 9.0b to no avail. Even the old media pl
ayer ver6.4 (typing mplayer2 in the run cmd) has the same symptoms. pls help.

Do you have any other video related software installed?
I had Pinnacle expression pre-loaded and also had a blank screen but with
sound. Quicktime did work though. Uninstalling Pinnacle cured the problem.
If you do uninstall any software, it is probably best to set a System
Restore Point first.
