Hi, I'm new to this forum so apologies if this topic has
been covered before.
I am having difficulty trying to get my Fuji Finepix 3800
camera to connect to my PC.
I've read other posts with a similar problem and followed
the advice i.e. not using the Fuji supplied drivers CD
but letting XP sort it out (having first deinstalled any
Fuji USB drivers etc)
I've eliminated any problems with the camera/USB lead etc
cos I connected it to a friends PC (running XP
Professional) and it loaded the drivers and USB mass
storage device all by itself and then came up with
removable drive (F:) no probs.
Mine is a Dell Dimension running XP Home Edition; after
plugging the camera in and switching on it does the
usual 'new hardware found' it manages to find the right
driver (Finepix Digital Camera 020724) then as a finale
the Hardware Update Wizard comes up with-
"Cannot Install Hardware
There was a problem installing the hardware 'USB Mass
Storage'
An error occurred during the installation of the device
The driver installation file for the device is missing a
necessary entry. This may be because the INF was written
for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor."
I contacted Fuji who said it is a hardware or WinXp
problem -not theirs!!
(I Have managed to load drivers for and connect another
Fuji camera (2300) with no problem).
Errm, has anybody out there got any good ideas - I would
be very grateful cos this is driving me potty!!!
