I have a problem with my internal modem which came with
the laptop I bought. The modem is set up to use PORT 3
but when I go to Device Manager, only LPT1 exists. Does
anyone know how to repair this problem?
Thanks a lot,
G

LPT1 is your printer port. The serial ports are Com1, Com2,etc. Your laptop
probably shows only Com1, which is normal. What problem are you having?

The ports shown in Device Manager are the physical ports on the computer,
and may laptops these days don't have serial ports. This shouldn't make any
difference to your modem, though, as it is its own com port.
