I am a newuser but am posting here because I seem to know too much for that
group. I have a Dell 2350 with WindowsXP Home edn which I purchased at end
of January. Yesterday, I downloaded two driver device updates and during
install I lost my dial-up connection. When I attempted to re-dial, I had a
system error and had to go into the black screen and chose Best last
configuration to get up and running again. I returned to the MS update site
and the scan said I needed to update the Broadcom V.92 56 K modem again.
(The intel driver update succeeded). However, it appears the Broadcom
update is downloaded but any attempt to install through the update site has
failed. I am wondering where this update has been downloaded and can I
install manually? Is it possible it has installed and how would I find out?
Should a do a roll-back using device manager and do the download again? I
really have no idea how to proceed and would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks.
