Hi I'm at a loss here windows xp has the program to fax
but my set up won't allow I'm connected with Bellsouth
DSL and am using the alcatell external modem the computer
has the origanal 56k modem also inside but it's not
connected when I try to fax with the dsl it say's no
connection made or busy am I supposed to do something
else to make it work???

You cannot fax with a digital modem which is what a cable/broadband/DSL
modem is. Stop thinking of it as a modem and think of it as a network card,
connecting you to a giant network (the internet).

To fax through a phone line, you must use your old fashioned analog modem
connected to a plain old fashioned phone line.

To fax through DSL, use an online fax service like www.efax.com
