I can export my email, address books, and news accounts in OE. I can save
all that to floppy. But why in the world am I allowed only to create a
shortcut to my dial up connection when I try to copy it?

Is there a way to get my dial up connection saved to disk so every time I
reformat or change computers I do not have to create a new connection?

Did you try clicking on the shortcut - in the new installation? Been a
while since I tested it, but I recollect that this will create the DUN
connectoid.

Nope. It copies only as a shortcut no matter how I drag and drop.

Josh,
It's normal in XP for the connection settings not to transfer. If the
shortcut had a stored password and it was transferable, it would be a
security problem.

Hi Josh,

Export these two keys: Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Addresses

Save with a .reg extension and merge when need be.
