Outlook Express does not have an independent spell checker. You have to have
another program, ( MS Word or Works)that has a spellchecker, installed to
enable the spellchecker in OE.
There are also some free spellcheckers that will associate themselves with
OE.

Outlook Express doesn't have its own spellchecker. It uses this feature from
Office or other Microsoft products with spell-check.

Answer from Frank Saunders:
OE does not come with a spelling checker. It uses the spelling checker =
from
any other 32-bit Microsoft program that has one. Do you have such a
program?
If not you could try one of these:
Free spellchecker.
