I recently upgraded my Windows XP Home to XP Professional.
To my surprise, the links to all my programs, including
legal Microsoft programs. were not available for access
(though the programs are still on the "C" drive). In
addition, the only way I can access all my personal
docuemnts is through NotePad.

How can I get my programs listed in the "Programs list"
and the icons onto my desktop for easy access as they were
under XP Home? Why weren't they set up during the
installation?

I am grateful for any suggestions. Thanks.

Ed

Were you sure you selected 'upgrade' instead of (fresh) install?

An upgrade converts the operating system where as a fresh install will only
install a fresh windows without any of your old programs and files.

When you start up the computer do you get an option to choose either
Windows XP Home or Windows XP Professional?
