View Full Version : XP Boot problem

I have a PC that I built and installed XP. It has run fine for a year. Today
when I start it I get a blue screen after the "XP" logo is on for a while
with an error that says "PFN_LIST_CORRUPT" . Never saw this before.
Also...I can run safemode with no problems. But cannot correct it. Any help
would be appreciated.

I did a google search on "PFN_LIST_CORRUPT". The first hit was a link to
the MS knowledge base concerning this problem with Windows 2000 systems.
The same might go for XP. The info indicates that a driver or some other
problem damaged the I/O driver structures. Since you can get into safe mode
which runs without most drivers, this could be the problem. Here's the
