you are only allowed to install one copy of xp on a
single computer. Therefore if you want to install your
copy of Windows XP onto your laptop you will need to
remove it from your desktop computer or buy another copy.
Obviously you will need to reactivate it on your laptop
so you may need to call the activbation centre because
your copy is 'currently' already registered to your
desktop. However, if this happens, all you need do is exp
[lain that you have removed the copy from your desktop
and reinstalled it on your laptop.
As to Office XP this is debatable. Some say you can
install office XP on a desktop and a laptop.
Unfortunately, i do not subscribe to this theory. The
actual licence agreement say's a copy of Office XP can be
installed on a desktop and another copy may be stored on
a backup device. Personally, and maybe legally, a laptop
is not a backup device. In my opinion a zip drive and CD
are back up devices, a laptop is another computer.
