Eggtimer rund every minute

Hi all,

As it says, every minute for about one second.
I have used msconfig to turn off everything that looks unnecessary, rum my
antivirus, run Adaware, Spy Sweeper, and everything else that I can think
off.

There must be some clever software that will catch this activity. Pointers
please!

XP Home SP1, installed for first time about a month ago, this activity
started about a week ago; nothing new installed for about two weeks, to my
knowledge.

I am assuming you mean that your cursor changes to show background activity
about once a minute. This is absolutely normal...could be disk indexing,
power setting, just about anything. But I would not worry about it.
