Microsoft claims that SP1 causes a problem reading DVD's,
especially with InterVideo WIN DVD software. They offer
a "hot fix" at:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;329623
Note - this "hot fix" did not fix the same trouble that I
am having, on my Fujitsu laptop. But, it's worth a try.
