I have had an issue with SP1 on my Fujitsu laptop -- will
not play DVD's now. Also, I cannot use my firewire
enclosure anymore...all after installing SP1. But, I
haven't seen an issue with USB or touchpad. Appears MS
might have a major probelm with their not-so-service pack.

I finally got things to work by deleting all the USB devices in the Device
Manager, and letting XP re-find the devices and re-install the drivers. As
for the networking, I mucked around with it and it finally started to work.
No rhyme or reason to it - just blind perseverance.

It's my job to make these things work, so configuring my own machine was a
challenge. God help the poor ******* who buys one of these things
themselves, expecting it to just work, then does the recommended updates,
and has the thing crap out on them. Who to contact - Toshiba or Microsoft,
and good luck at getting to a "real" person at either company. It's a good
thing there are newsgroups to help us commiserate with each other and try to
find solutions!

Cheers,
Gary
