help maybe driver

I have a laptop that came with Windows ME, I upgraded to
XP Pro. Now my CD/DVD drive will only play DVDs it will
not play Audio or DATA CDs. Could it be a driver prob or
did the CD Rom portion of my drive fail????

Either is a possibility, but you should try to find driver
for your laptop...XP may not have drivers for your
particular laptop. What make and model is it? Have you
tried the OEM site for XP drivers? If you can't find XP
drivers, do they have NT drivers?
