View Full Version : can't subscribe to more news groups

I can find the group on the list in OE and click subscribe. It puts the
icon by the group on the list, but when I click o.k., nothing happens.
The list window stays up and the only way that I can close it is to
click cancel. When I do click cancel, it goes to the group, but shows
no messages in this very active group and does not save the group name
to my list. I also have other active groups that I'm already subscribed
to that show no messages. Some groups work, and some do not. I also
have netscape on this computer and have no trouble subscribing to new
groups, but prefer OE because of the combine and decode feature. Can OE
be reset to defaults and start over, or can it be repaired? I'm using
IE 6 to access OE news groups with WIN XP home. Any help will be much
appreciated. TIA.

Hi,
I have only seen this happen after a registry import of newsgroups on shared
accounts when OE was open during the transaction. Other than that the only
thing that comes to mind is to check your View Options (View/Current View).
And your options under OE/Tools/Options/
General and Read....
Good luck!

No shared accounts. I am the only user and admin. of this computer.
View is set to show all messages. What should the general options be
set at? Is there a tutorial on OE somewhere that I could check? Thank
you Kelly.
