i just installed a Best Data modem in my computer and i
can't get it to work properly. It says the device is
working properly, but whenever i try to dial up, it
says, "opening port, dialing," but never opens the phone
line or dials--it says it is on com 3, but when i open the
ports on the device manager, com 3 is not listed...i
eventually get an error (777) saying something about the
remote computer...
any suggestions for making this work? i'm running xp pro
