I've got the identical problem. People are swearing to me
that it is one of two things. I either have to enable DMA
for the drive or the IDE controller, or disable it. The
problem is, the option to disable it does not seem to be
available in my device manager. I've seen entries on
other forums for people who have said this works, but no
one can tell me why I don't have that option. DMA stands
for direct memory access by the way. I'm guessing this is
a bug they introduced with their service pack 1 release.
