Claire,

First off let me say that Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is a
great game. I am not exactly sure of the solution to your
problem, but I would first find out if your video card
supports 32 Bit color, and if so, I would then get the
latest video driver available from the manufacturer.

I have not played this game on PC, but many games have an Options or Set
Up menu that allows the user to change the video defaults, like color
depth, screen resolution, 3d processor, and the like. I would be
surprised if MorrowWind did not have this, given its overall popularity.
