I have two computers, one running Windows XP and the
other running Windows 98. They both have NIC cards, and
I would like to transfer data between them. Any
suggestions?

Hi Steve -

Use a direct cable connection between the NIC cards using a Cat-5 Crossover
cable (available at any computer store). Note: be certain that you get a
crossover cable and not one where the lines run straight through.

Then you can run the Windows XP networking wizard to set up the connection.
XP's help and support offers substantial help in setting up the connection,
files and folders for sharing, etc.
