External CD Writer problems

Can anybody help?
I am having problems finding the patch to work my
external cd writer.

Windows XP is giving me a web address to Roxio to upgrade
but the link is not working.

My version of Easy CD is 4 and am unsure where on the
roxio.com to find it as there are so many optionns.

Would it be easier just to buy a new version like Easy CD
6?

You can buy and should buy a newer software package. I
bought version 5 basic and have run the updates. I don't
think you can get an update download for version 4 that will
make it run properly on XP.
I have seen retail sales of Easy CD Basic version 5 for sale
for as little as $10 in ads in Computer Shopper or PC World
(can't remember which off hand) or you can do a search on
www.pricewatch.com
Version 6 is probably "better" but it will cost you $100
more (more or less).

They just posted an update for version 5 Basic and it seems
to work fine.
