I set up my fax to receive automatically. It worked one time then did not answer the phone again. what do I do? Thanks in advance.

The first thing you would need to do is provide details. You gave us nothing
to go on.
You know, things like your modem and whether it is on the Windows XP HCL
list, how you configured fax, exactly what happens, error messages, Event
viewer, etc.

I have an Agere Win Modem that came with my HP computer. It is attached to
COM 3. I don't know if it is on a list because I don't know how to find the
list. The computer just doesn't respond to fax rings. Nothing. No
message, no response after the first receipt.

I didn't configure the fax. It is as it came from the factory.

I have yet to see a Win modem that is compatible with Windows XP Fax. The
HCL list is easy to find on Microsoft's site:
