Blank screen on startup

Hi,

When I start my computer, after I get my first initialisation screen, and
then get the Windows XP screen and logo, my screen goes blank, for 60
seconds, when I then get my desktop screen - i.e. XP is not starting
immediately. Does anybody have any ideas on a solution?
