I was forced to use the System Recovery disks and hoped
that my personal files would not be destroyed and it
worked except that the recovery process deleted Microsoft
Office, including Outlook. Is there any way I can recover
the Address book and PST file? I am grasping at straws
here. John

Have you searched your entire hard drive, including system and hidden
folders/files? If you have and you can't find the files, then you're
probably out of luck. If part of your profile was saved, search in the
'C:\Documents and Settings\profile name\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook'.
Application Data is a hidden folder so you'll need to turn on the option to
view hidden files and folders.
If it's not there, try 'C:\Documents and Settings\profile name\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook' Local Settings is hidden as
well.

If by "System Recovery disks" you are referring to CDs supplied with the
computer then the system would have been restored to the state it was in at
the time it was purchased. Therefore anything installed, created or saved on
that system after it was purchased will be overwritten by the Restore
process.
