Posted here before about my b/i/laws pc.Just got around to having a look and
found that
2 pins had been bent in the bios chip.sorted that and now have the following
error messages at boot
Suggested SDRAM CAS Latency time is "2"
Primary IDE Channel no 80 conductor cable is installed.
NTLDR is missing.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Error 1: go into the system Bios and change the CAS latency from 3 (which
it probably is set to now) to 2.
You must use an ATA100 cable. The one you have is 40 conductor, not 80.
The 80 conducter ATA 100 has three different color connectors; Blue, gray
and black. The blue connector goes to the motherboard; The black connector
goes to the Master device, adn the gray goes to the Slave device. You must
replace the old ATA33 cable you currently have in the box.
3. Do in in-place repair install of windows XP to repair your ntldr
problem. Do this AFTER the other two things have been corrected. The
instructions on how to do this are in the Microsoft Knowedgebase

Ok making progress but intrigued about the cable problem as this is the
original cable before the system got messed up.Everything plugged in as
suggested but its now too late to check any further tonight, perhaps there
are some more bent pins.
