I connected a USB Scanner to my computer running XP Pro
and it did not find it. It highlighted a "Colorado 19200"
driver not usable but would not give any more information.
I need to install a driver for the scanner but don't know
its maker as it was installed on my old machine running 98
which had no problem finding it.
If anybody could guide me to a generic driver it would be
great.

No such thing as a generic scanner driver. You have to determine in some
way what the make of the scanner is. there should be a stricker or some
embossed lettering somewhere on the body of the scanner. Also, try looking
on the inside where the light tray is. There might be some clues in there.

You need to go to the manufactures web site and see if you can download a xp
driver. Sometimes a W2K driver will work but not very well. If can not
find an xp driver thru the web site or searching in google you will be out
of luck. A lot of hardware will not work with XP that you would assume
would, but if the manufacture does not have a driver then they do not plan
on it either. Look around for a model that xp supports.
