Sporadic startup in XP Pro

Has anyone heard of XP having any startup timers? Friend
of mine says her computer starts up spontaneously 2 or 3
mornings a week at the same time.

Computer is not plugged into a light timer (my first
question)

There may be an option in the computer bios that enables just a function!
Turn it off!
