I am getting ready to build a CAD/Photoshop Workstation,
and am planning on building a Dual CPU Xeon 2.66 GHz. (533
bus) system running Windows XP Professional. My question
is since XP Pro only supports 2 CPU's, and most apps like
photoshop only support 2 CPU's, should I Disable HT, or
leave it turned on so the OS shows 4 CPU's in the Device
Manager, or is HT also compatible and ran through dual CPU
SMP... Or, would it be better to install Windows Server
2003 to get the most out of my "4" CPU's.

Thanks,

Don Goff

Hello

Most desktop applications only support 1 processor and
CAD/MICROSTATION will support Dual Processor with your OS Win2003
or Win XP Pro would just be fine and no need to turn off HT.
