I just discover this piece of info that says you can't test burn before
actual burning under XP.. If u did,it could ruin ur disk..WEll, Nero
provides test burn featur without warning the potential problem with XP
though...
I always test burn and this could be the reason y i am having all the
trouble? But i used windows xp's burning function w/o test burn too, and it
fails consistently too. anyone have more info or experience about this?
thanx...

Windows XP Does Not Support Testing Before Writing to CD-R or CD-RW Media
The information in this article applies to:
a.. Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
b.. Microsoft Windows XP Professional
This article was previously published under Q302711
SYMPTOMS
In Windows XP, because you cannot test the CD-burning capabilities of the CD
burner before you start the write process, a CD-R disk could potentially be
ruined because of a buffer under-run. There is no way of running a test
write to the CD-R prior to the actual burning of the CD-R.
MORE INFORMATION
A test write to a CD is simple a test of the writing of data to the CD-R.
The reason it can be tested is because the test burn is done at a read
level. In this way, nothing is actually written to the CD-R during the test.
