Running a P4 3.06 GHz on a Giga byte motherboard. Had
windows 2000 on the machine and it saw the dual
processors. Performed a new install on Win XP. The os
does not see two processors (hyperthreading is enabled
in BIOS). After the XP install (duh on mypart) I found
a BIOS upgrade on the board mfgrs site and upgraded the
BIOS. Hyperthreading still enabled and the machine still
does not indicate 2 processors present.
If I do a repair install will I need to reapply all of
the service pacs and software upgrades from the
windowsupdate site?? Any other suggestions on how to make
the OS see the dual procs??
Thanks

Do you have XP Pro? Home won't see two processors, only Pro.

Just for your info I'm running a P-4 3.0 GHZ with a Gigabyte GA-8KNXP with
Double DDR 400 and in the Device manager under Processors it shows two. Are
you using the same board this is not the Ultra only the Raid version. P-4 is
a 800 bus type as well.
