When I am in Internet Explorer and right click on a
picture/image to save it, the only choice I'm given is to
save the pic as an "untitled" bitmap image. Why can't I
save it by its true name: xyz123.jpg

Delete your temporary internet files and you will be able to save as jpg.

Also if you want to avoid some hassle you can use
Netscape Navigator and it will allow you to save pictures
as jpeg's without deleting temp files

Agreed. Netscape can be a resource hog, though. I like it, but just don't
like how much it "needs" to run.

Opera is a better alternative...small, light, fast...
