Keyboard characters.

Since installing xp from 98se the keyboard has changed
some of the characters and things are not what they seem.
The " key is now @
The pound sign has gone altogether
The pound sign key is now #
There are also a few others.
Any ideas please.

You're using the "wrong" version of English. ;-}

Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options, make sure
that "Standards and formats" and "Location" are correct. Start >
Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages > Details >
Default Input Language.
