I just hooked up a Radio Shack USB to Serial cable to my
laptop to be able to use my Garmin GPS with Microsoft
Streets and Trips. When I hooked up the GPS Windows XP
found the new device but decided it was a Microsoft Serial
Ballpoint mouse instead of a GPS. Not only does it not
work with the Streets program, it also moves the mouse
pointer all over the place in response to the output of
the GPS.

Is there a way to correct the device manager so it doesn't
mis-identify the GPS?

Thanks,
Evan

Maybe a funky cable?
