I am having all sorts of problems with my NIC card and
ACPI using IRQ 11. I have tried 3 different NIC cards
that are all Windows XP compatible It still gives me the
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR EQUAL error when I plug the cat 5
cable in or start up the pc with the cat 5 cable plugged
in and does the same when I try the USB method.. I am
ready to shoot my pc... any ideas ?

Sounds like a resident driver from the NICs is doing this. Show hidden
devices in device manager and delete all instances of the NIC and then try
again.
