Right-click on your Desktop and select:
Properties > Setting and adjust your Screen Resolution
settings, then select "Highest (32 bit) Color Quality setting,
and click "apply".

Afterward, use ClearType to tune your monitor:

[Click on "ClearType Tuner Updated"]

In addition to the other response regarding color depth and ClearType you
should know (if you don't already) flat panel monitors are designed to run
only in their "native" resolution. For the 19" Flat panel Ultrasharp that
shipped with my Dell that would be 1280 x 1024. They look terrible at other
resolutions.

I do notice that while you said it is a 19" monitor, in your system specs
you list the 1801FP Ultrasharp which is an 18" monitor. Consult your system
documentation for the proper native resolution for whichever model you have.
