Did'nt know this problem existed until today, a friends
puter was locking up(winXP home), found all his hardware
residing on irq 5, went online to a private XP help forum
to find same problem exits with many, my config is fine,
but XP won't let you change irq's like 98 did. Say's soom
bull like hardware not pnp, yea o.k. This usually isn't a
problem unless u are a gamer, any idea's? Thanx

Leave it alone! WinXP quite often puts several devices on the same IRQ.
WinXP uses a technology called IRQ Steering and can handle interrupt
requests from different devices on the same channel. If you try and change
any of them, you chance making the computer unbootable.

IRQ sharing is normal on XP. I have five devices on one IRQ with no
problems.
