I have a P4, 2.0GHz, 768RAM running Windows XP (home
edition). The cd-r on my pc will no longer burn. I found
that roxio had been removed from the hard drive and I
reinstalled that. When I tried to drag and drop to the e:
drive it would eventually eject and give me an error
writing to disc. That is when I saw the Roxio link in the
error window, so I figured it must need to be installed. I
am not sure of the brand of the cd-r as it came already
installed on the PC. I have removed the device from the
computer and reinstalled it with the add/remove hardware
function. I have removed and reinstalled the driver. Both
times without any resolution. any help would be
appreciated.

Deciphering your post, it seems like you're trying to do some packet
writing to your cd.
1- Is DirectCD (Roxio's packet writer) installed?
2- If yes to 1, did you format the blank CD? (required for packet
writing)

Sorry, I left out that a format should be with CD-RW blanks.

Tried to format with direct cd but was unable to. I would
then run the scandisc under the utilities with the direct
cd and it tellsme that i have a blank cd. not sure what
to do?
