Hi: Some of my CD-RWs are not recognized when I try to
record on them. I can't figure out what the problem is,
since it doesn't seem to have much to do with brand. (For
example, some Imation 1-4x disks work while others don't.)
Is there a way to format CD-RW disks so that XP will
recognize them? Or is there another workaround?

Also: A completely different minor question. Can someone
tell me how to do a universal change of folder "Views" from
whatever the default is to "Details"? I can do it one
folder at a time, but that's pretty time-consuming.

Thank you for your help.

First question. CD-RW discs are a great idea, in theory only. I have
attempted to use them and have 'lost' data, jpg etc from them......Just
disappeared!... The software you use to format the disc is probably what is
causing your problem...And that is where the problem is.overall....i loved
the idea of using them as a 'big floppy' and have been disappointed every
time so i gave up........I don't pretend to understand the tech side of
packet writing, which is the way CD-RW data is written, i just know that the
Newsgroups are littered with people reporting failures with them... Most
tech savvy people scoff at them.....

The second questiojn...... Go to Control Panel and select the folders
Folder.. In there you have the option to change the views of your folders,
the one you are looking at or all the others...
