Anyone know why defrag analysis shows that I have 59,243,files and my Norton
virus checker says I have 86,250 files. I don't know why they are different.

Hi,
It depends on how they count files. Some defraggers will count a .zip file
as "1", some will count the files in it (which will obviously be more than 1
in most instances). Same thing for other compressed files, .cab for
instance.

I think you meant that the anti-virus counts inside cabs, zips etc...

Hi Thomas,
Yes, I guess I should have stated that it's how the AV program counts the
files. It's not the program type that is important here, it's more a matter
of explaining why there is a difference in the counts. Many different
programs, including differeing defraggers (or different AV programs) will
count files differently.
