I have Window XP Home edition installed on my PC at home.
I am the administrator and the computer is not used on a
network. I recently downloaded and installed the most
recent XP system update files. Shortly after this was done
my computer, when I would turn it on, would go to a sign
in screen and ask which user would be using the machine.
Something like signing on to a network at work where the
PC when it boots up asks for a user name and password. I
prefer to have the system boot up right into the desktop
rather that go through this extra step to boot up my
computer. Is there a setting in the users account or else
where that is telling XP home to ask which user is using
the PC when it boots up. I haven't had this problem until
last week when I installed the latest windows updates from
the website.
My main question is how do I tell Window XP to boot up
right into the desktop without going through this new user
request.
Thanks for any help you can give.
