transfering files

i am running xp pro and cant transfer any files in
messenger, when i turn of the firewall i can but it
crashed with rcp error

Yes, if you have the built-in Internet Connection Firewall engaged, you won't be able to send
files through Windows Messenger. This can however be configured but before I get into that,
can you be more specific about what "crash" you're seeing?
