D-Link DE660 Network card

I have installed the above card and windows tells me that
the drivers are ok but the card can not start, does
anyone have any idea what the problem could be, the card
does not get detected by the PnP when it is inserted into
my laptop and does not appera on the system hardware
list, its as though it has never been installed, though
windows xp is supposed to have built in support for this
card. Any solution to this problem would be gratefully
recieved

Have you check the BIOS settings?
What laptop do you have?
