How to clean monitor screen

Several people have touched my monitor screen and its
starting to get smeared. Efforts to wipe it clean have
failed. What's the best thing to clean monitor screens
with? Thanks!

Use a non-ammonia based window cleaner and a very soft cloth.

this really does depend on the type of monitor.All of the advice so far =
deals with CRT but LCD are treated differently....water/alcohol solution =
on a very soft cloth.
or the kind of glass cleaner you can get from the optomotrist if you =
have plastic lenses.
