I would suspect your new processor is not configured
correctly. May be overclocked. I would refer to the
mainboard manual and any other documentation that may
have came with your processor to configure it properly.

Stupid question - are you /SURE/ your motherboard can take the processor? If
yes, can it do so without a BIOS update?
