I am having the problem with the New Hardware Wizard popping up every time I
turn on my Epson C60 printer (in WinXP). I am tired of using the workaround
(cancelling Wizard) each time. According to KB298370 I should be able to fix
it by deleting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\L PTENUM from
the Registry, and then restarting.
But it will not allow me to delete the key:

"Cannot delete LPTENUM: Error while deleting key."
I am doing this with the printer turned off and all other apps closed.
What to do? Thanks, Jack

Hi

Try disconnecting the printer then deleting the Registry key.
