This would be good advice if System Restore was a good
program. Unfortunately it isn't. System restore is
affected by anything from disk cleanup to virus scans. The
much superior program to ensure your day to day needs are
met is NT Backup. If you have XP HE then it is on your
disk at the following location. valueadd\msft\ntbackup. It
has wizards for the beginner and tons of options to
configure for the advanced user. Once you learn how to use
this you will turn off the useless system restore and save
CPU resources and HDD space. NT Backup will always be
there for you. I agree that if you want a backup disk for
recovery of your setup then Ghost is one of the best
products but does require some advanced knowledge.Good luck

Absolutely wrong information. System restore is NOT affected by disc
cleanup.
