Bob & Steve-

If you can get to kind of setup that Steve describes with
the line-in, you can use MusicMatch Jukebox
(http://www.musicmatch.com). It provides for line-in
recording to MP3 format, though that capability is only
available in the pay version ($20). I believe the
Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition provides a similar
capability. I picked up my copy of that Plus! pack at
Sam's Club for about $12.
